Cake!

Pam and I made a cake today! I found this recipe for a layer cake that had chocolate layers, orange layers, with chocolate filling, covered in orange buttercream with chocolate ganache poured on top. Sounds crazy, huh? Well it was. Obviously, first we made the cake layers! We had to do this in a few batches because there were five layers. The original recipe had ten, thinner layers!

The finished product looked really tasty!


Unfortunately, I didn't really like the texture of the cake much. I did like the frostings, though...which is rare because usually I like the cake, and hate the frosting!

My next cake will be out of "Rose's Heavenly Cakes" and I am so excited! I will probably make the apple upside down cake from that cookbook for Thanksgiving!! :)

After we made the cake, I biked to Cal, and played late night racquetball with Andrew! It was a lot of fun.
